watched 2nd half of NARASIMMA.. in K TV (not for the 1st time)..

racy - pacy screenplay.. definitely not bad..
but its too late.. the damage has been done in the first half itself..

right from the thirumalai naicker mahal - special officers meeting, vallarasu dove scene, fight, radharavi scene... it was moving very well...
the -ves are captain speaking english, his jumps in fight sequences [hand-leg speed is good but not the jumps & rope throws], very poor graphics / amateurish technology scenes, love scenes, kadhal araaro dance..

nice to see captain's long time allakais in the film.. Thyagu, vadivelu, chandrasekar, sriman.. special :clap: for Radharavi's performance

& captain converted full time villains to his allakai's.. Raghuvaran, Nassar, Anandaraj, kasan khan... venu aravind is also there.. ivan engirudhu vandhan...

* in climax shootout, when everyone shoots either with a machine gun or some type of rifle.. captain just with the help 2 pistol kind of guns finishes the terrorists :lol2:
* K TV removed the most famous / infamous dialogue about his entry into politics :lol2:

* lots of worthy dialogues about madha nallinakkanam, arasiyal, punch dialogues & most importantly simma.. narasimma.. a la bond.. james bond..

after captain kills all the terrorists.. one small boy wearing muslim skull cap comes in front of captain holding a gun.. he aims at him & shoots.. first bullet misses captain.. second one hits his right hand.. on seeing this Anandaraj tries to shoot the boy.. but captain asks him not to do it... he goes to the boy & takes back the gun.. & says "ini idhu thevai illai" :( [my aanandha kanneer]


captain comes out to the common place carrying the boy... now its the turn of Nassar.. "yar indha payyan"

Do not believe the wikipedia entries. Those entries about Captain are highly spammed and contains incorrect and insufficient details. I try my best to set it right many times but some rats creep in at times and spoil the grain.

Captain's original name is Vijayaraju. He is a reddy and not naidu. Correct me if I am wrong!

I still remember a full page of advertisements in Dinathanthi, congratulating Captain.
This was around the time when Vallarasu and Vanathaipola was taking Tamilnadu as a tsunami!

i checked the censor report for couple of films like Pulan Visaranai, Captain Prabhakaran..
i felt it is a waste to check for older films..
the certificate for PV is given on 2007 & they have a 4 page report . deleting so many scenes which i have seen & have in the dvd..
these censor certificate reports are useful for the latest releases only..

This small incident was from about 16 years back in Chennai. I had gone to a small T. VCD shop in Velachery, a place I used to frequent then. I was looking for some VCD to rent when two young men / boys came in asking for the latest Vijayakanth movie. The owner of the shop said, "En boss innum Vijaykanth padam lam pathukutu? Romba kevalama ayitaru pakkaraduku". To which one of the two youth replied "Boss, avaroda padam nalla irukku, illanu sollunga. Ana avara pathi eduvum solla vendam. Approm nadakardu vera". The shop owner duly apologized. It was an eye opener, for I was under the belief that the star's loyalty was confined to the southern districts of TN.

பிரபு - குழந்தைத் தனம் கலந்த நகைச்சுவை, சின்னத்தம்பி போன்ற வாயிலே விரலை வைத்தால் கூட கடிக்கத் தெரியாத அப்பாவி பாத்திரங்கள், குணச்சித்திர பாத்திரங்கள்(அஞ்சலி) இதிலே கெட்டிக்காரர்.

கார்த்திக் - காதல். அதற்கான உடல் மொழி இவர்கிட்ட நிறைய. துருதுருவென திரியும் இளைஞன்..துடிப்பான இளம் ரத்தம்.. இதுபோன்றவைகளை வெளிப்படுத்துவதில் வித்தகர்.

சத்யராஜ் - விஷயம் தெரிந்த நக்கல் - நையாண்டி.. வில்லத்தனம்.. மாதவ படையாச்சி போன்ற சில அரிய கதாப்பாத்திரங்கள் - இவருக்கே சொந்தம்.

விஜயகாந்த் - பொறுப்பான இளைஞன் - அது ஊர்த் தலைமை ஆகட்டும், காவலாகட்டும். தலைவன் பாத்திரத்திற்கு ஏகப் பொருத்தம். மற்ற நடிகர்களை ஒப்பிடும்போது சண்டைக்காட்சிகளை ரொம்ப விரும்பி செய்பவர். எந்த வித அரசியல் அமைப்புப் படங்களுக்கும் இவரின் உடல், குரல் ஏகப்பொருத்தம்.

VALLARASU is a re-release material.. it enjoyed a very good run whenever it was re-released.. i have witnessed it in my hometown.. (kovai'laye ippadina madurai pakkam, dharmapuri, krishnagiri, salem ellam ketkave vendam).. only now it was not re-released much since almost all theaters started playing new releases..

i got a feeling that it would be a hit once i saw the title & the font design & also it was Captain Cine Creations first film... then i was slightly excited about the new villain P Vasu, i think he has 100% super hit record with Captain as a director...

I have felt each and every expression Raj has mentioned. I was in my 7th standard at that time. I used to read-re read-re re read vallarasu movie review from dinathanthi. I took a paper cutting of that. Vallarasu was an all round hit. Back then on my journey in buses in Erode, I was a curious kid deriving pleasure from the masses of people flocking theatres running Vallarasu and from the sky high fan club banners that occupied even the "patti thotti" of villages!

i think captain movie selection in the late 80's and 90's is very good especially ummai vizhigal..i think karuppu nila and basha released together and i was too young my cousin brother took me to karuppu nila and i loved the fight in which captain ties up a heroine in his back and fight..tat was one of the popular fight at tat point of time...

W: How did you begin your career in Tamil films?


Sampath Raj: My first film is Neranja Manasu with Captain Vijaykanth directed by Samudirakani of Nadodigal fame. The film was produced by GJ cinema. It was a big budget film with a big star cast and I have done a dual role of father and son. I had huge expectations as I was debuting as a villain in a big film. However, on the third show of the first day, it was declared a flop. That was my first experience. The reason why I am saying this is, though the film did not do well, I got a call from almost six to seven directors like Perarasu, Saran, Ravi and others who promised to use me in their films. After this, the first opportunity was given to me by Vijaykanth in his film Perarasu. He remembered me and sent word through someone to play a small role in the film. I appreciate the trust and faith he had on me and his encouraging spirit. :clap: :clap:Later, director Perarasu kept his promise and gave me a small role in Tirupathy with Ajith. If not a big break, this film for me can be termed as a decent break in my career. Later, Hari called me for Thamirabarani and that’s how my journey in Tamil films began.


Your experience of working with leading stars
My biggest unforgettable experience in the film world is that I was fortunate enough to work with the person who I have never even dreamt of seeing in real life. She is none other than Achi Manorama. My first day shoot was at Udumalpet and I saw Achi, Vijaykanth sir, Vinu Chakravarthy and many such stalwarts at the shooting spot. I was very nervous but at the same time had confidence in me. In spite of this, I was wondering what if I make a fool of myself in front of so many people. Captain and Vinu Chakravarthy shook hands with me and wished me luck. But Achi just smiled. Immediately, I went to her and fell at her feet. I was so moved and told her that it is only because of my mom’s good deeds that I am standing before her. She hugged me and gave her blessings. She said, “Something tells me that you would do well. Don’t ask me what makes me say this.” Her words were so encouraging that I felt buoyant and pumped up from inside. My chest became so enlarged and my first take itself was Okayed. Three hundred people applauded and I did not know what was going on. I could feel blood rushing to my head and thought I was going to burst open. I went directly to Achi and said that it was her words that made me deliver. Like this, I have met many people in the industry who have encouraged me.

அது என்னமோ தெரியவில்லை… இந்தப் படத்தின் விளம்பரங்கள் அல்லது பாடல்களை எங்கு பார்த்தாலும் / கேட்டாலும் மனம் உற்சாகத்தில் துள்ள ஆரம்பித்துவிடும்.
காரணம் சொல்லித் தெரிய வேண்டியதில்லை… இளையராஜாவும் கங்கை அமரனும் தமிழ் ரசிகர்களை அப்படியே கட்டிப் போட்டார்கள் தங்கள் இசை மற்றும் அருமையான வரிகளில்.
எல்லாப் பாடல்களையும் கங்கை அமரன்தான் எழுதியிருந்தார். இந்தப் படத்தில் இதுதான் சிறந்த பாடல் என்று ஒன்றை மட்டும் குறிப்பிடவே முடியாது. எல்லாமே ‘தி பெஸ்ட்’தான்!

இன்று நான் எழுத நினைத்திருக்கும் பாடல் வைதேகி காத்திருந்தாள் படத்தில் வரும் பாடல். வைதேகி காத்திருந்தாள் தமிழில் எடுக்கப்பட்ட சிறந்த படங்களுள் ஒன்று. சுந்தர்ராஜன் - இளையராஜாவின் கூட்டணியில் உருவான மற்றுமொரு மாபெரும் வெற்றிப்படம்.


விஜயகாந்தின் வித்தியாசமான பாத்திரம், கணவனை இழந்த பெண்ணாக ரேவதி மிக யதார்த்தமாக நடித்திருந்த விதம், கவுண்டமணி / செந்திலின் பெட்ரோமாஸ் / ஆத்தங்கரை போன்ற மிகச் சிறந்த நகைச்சுவை காட்சிகள், கதைக்களம் நடக்கும் அற்புதமான கிராமம், எல்லாவற்றுக்கும் மேலாக ராஜாவின் மிக, மிக அற்புதமான பாடல்கள், பின்னணி இசைக்கோர்வை என அனைத்துமே குறிப்பிடத்தகுந்தவை.


இனியவை நாற்பது எழுதும் போது கூட ”மேகம் கருக்கையிலே” பாடலைப் பற்றிக் குறிப்பிட்டிருந்தேன். அப்படத்தின் ஒவ்வொரு பாடலும் அற்புதமானது. * ஒவ்வொரு * பாடலும். "ராசாத்தி உன்னை" பாடல், அப்படம் வந்து பல ஆண்டுகள் ஆனபிறகும் தமிழகத்தினை கட்டிப் போட்டிருக்கிறது. இரவு தூங்கும் போது, கேட்கக் கூடிய பாடல்களில் இப்பாடலுக்கு கண்டிப்பாக முக்கியமான இடமுண்டு. அதனைத் தவிர, "காத்திருந்து காத்திருந்து", "அழகுமலர் ஆட" ஆகிய இரண்டு பாடல்களும் மிகவும் அற்புதமான பாடல்கள்.

ஆனால், "இன்றைக்கு ஏன் இந்த ஆனந்தமோ" பாடலினைக் கேட்கும் போதெல்லாம் ஓர் இனம் புரியாத பூரிப்பு.

ஜெயச்சந்திரன் அவர்கள் ஆ... என்று ஆலாப் முடித்ததும் அவருடன் சேரும் வீணையின் இசை, வீணை முடிந்ததும் ஜெயச்சந்திரன் அவர்கள் "இன்றைக்கும் ஏன் இந்த ஆனந்தமே" என்ற ஆரம்பிக்கும் போதே நமக்கும் ஆனந்தம் தொற்றிக்கொள்கிறது.

முதலாவது சரணத்திற்கு முன்பாக, புல்லாங்குழலைத் தொடர்ந்து வரும் வீணையின் இசையும், வயலினைத் தொடர்ந்து வரும் வீணையின் இசையும், அவற்றைத் தொடர்ந்து, "பூங்குயில் சொன்னது" என்று சரணத்தை ஜெயச்சந்திரன் அவர்கள் ஆரம்பிப்பதும் அற்புதம்.

இரண்டாவது சரணத்தை வாணி ஜெயராம் அவர்கள் "மாவிலைத் தோரணம் ஆடிய காரணம் தேவியின் திருமணமோ" என்று ஆரம்பிக்கும் போது, ஆஹா... அதிலும் "ஆடிய" என்ற வார்த்தைக்கு அவர் கொடுக்கும் உச்சரிப்பு.. சுகம். நாயகியின் உற்சாகத்தை, மகிழ்ச்சியை அதனை விட இனிமையாக தெரிவிக்கமுடியாது.

இந்த சமயத்தில் ரேவதியைப் பற்றியும் குறிப்பிட வேண்டும். ரேவதி எவ்வளவோ நல்ல தமிழ் படங்களில் மிகச் சிறப்பாக நடித்திருக்கிறார். அதில் இப்படத்திற்கும் குறிப்பிடத்தகுந்த இடம் உண்டு. அவ்வளவு நளினமாக அந்தப் பாத்திரத்திற்கு உயிர் கொடுத்திருக்கிறார். இப்பாடலில் கூட, இரண்டாவது சரணத்திற்கு முன்பாக அந்த குங்குமச் சிமிழின் அருகில் அவர் உதிர்க்கும் அப்புன்னகை அவ்வளவு அழகு.

என்னைப் பொறுத்தவரை, வாணி ஜெயராம் மற்றும் ஜெயச்சந்திரன் அவர்களின் மிகச் சிறந்த பாடல் இது. இருவரும் அவ்வளவு அற்புதமாக பாடியிருக்கிறார்கள். பலமுறை எனக்கு ராஜா அவர்களின் மீது கோபமும், வருத்தமும் ஏற்படுவதுண்டு. அது எஸ்.பி.பி போன்ற மிகச் சிறந்த பாடகர் இருக்கும் போது எதற்காக மனோ போன்றவர்களை ஊக்குவிக்கிறார் என்பது அது. ஆனால் இப்பாடலில் ஜெயச்சந்திரனுடனைய குரலைத் தவிர வேறு யாருக்கும் அது பொருந்தியிருக்காது என்பது எனது எண்ணம் அது எஸ்.பி.பி அவர்களையும் சேர்த்து தான்.

இப்படத்தின் பாடல்களைத் தவிரவும் ராஜா அவர்கள் பின்னணி இசையில் தனி முத்திரையைப் பல இடங்களில் பதித்திருக்கிறார். முக்கியமாக ரேவதி, தனது வீட்டில் வாடகைக்கு இருப்பவரிடம் காதல் கொள்ளும் காட்சிகளில் வரும் இசை மிக இனிமையானது. கோவிலில் சந்திக்கும் போது (1:13:00) ஒலிக்கும் மணியோசையும், வீணையின் நாதமும் அருமையாக இருக்கும். அதே வீணையின் ஒலியை, அடுத்து அவர்கள் இருவரும் ரேஷன் கடையில் பேசிக்கொள்ளும் போதும் (1:16:40) தொடர்வதும், அதனை ஆலாப்பாக மாற்றியிருப்பதும் அற்புதம்.

1:20:00 காட்சியில் உசிலைமணியின் கடையில் உசிலைமணி "அவன் கையாலேயே உனக்கு குங்குமச்சிமிழ் கிடைச்சிருக்கு" என்றதும் அதே இசை அதற்கு அத்தனை இசைவாக இருக்கும். ஆனால் இந்த வீடியோவில் அது இல்லை.

நான் இன்னும் பல பக்கங்கள இப்படத்தின் இசையினைப் பற்றி எழுதிக்கொண்டே போக இயலும். ஆனால் நேரத்தினை கருத்தில் கொண்டு இத்துடன் இப்பகுதியை நிறைவு செய்கிறேன். இது போல ராஜா அவர்கள் இன்னும் நூற்றுக்கணக்கான பாடல்களையும், காட்சிகளுக்கு இசையினையும் நமக்கு தந்தருளியிருக்கிறார்.

Sokkathanggam. (watched this two weeks ago, forgot to post this)

- very decent movie, good performance all around.
- Captain should do this sort of film more with advancing age.
- Interesting because its to do with trouble between two very nice men who are not perfect.
- just when you thought the humiliated Captain (about his sister) would walk away in the rain (with some sad song, antha vanatta pOla-like) he comes back and beats the shit out of Prakashraj's male family member. Awesome!
- aNNan/Senthil comedy okay, not so great. Missed opportunity mostly. Plus, seen all of them in comedy clip shows.
- Bagyaraj should have given Vikraman a good run for his made from so-called family audience movie money.
- All in all, good time pass for baby and me (Saturday afternoon, wife teaches part time on that day).

- can be said as a suspense film.. but it was not like a thriller
- no brutal action.. but had fair amount of fight scenes for captain
- good screenplay.. keeps u interested almost for the entire film length
- no comedy track & comedians.. very less characters
- apart for title song & "nadhiyoram veesum" song.. others are waste for the film
- stunt choreography is also good.. very less of flying stunt
- not much investigative work for Captain.. most of the time he is going behind sangeetha to know about the case he is investigating
- prakashraj is the villain.. his early days in industry.. not a fighting villain..
- no irritating puch dialogues.. but there are punch dialogues like "pandhu viLaiyaaduradhu chinna pasanga vElai.. pandhaaduradhu CBI vElai" & some hero worship dialogues.. to a minimum
- I remember film crossing 65 / 75 days in Kovai.. Kavitha theater, i guess.. not a great theater.. but i think the film should be profitable so that KR might have joined hands with Captain again in "Dharma"
- it was released around "Thamizchelvan" times.. declining period of Captain

one thing i noticed...

- SPB Charan makes his debut in playback
- yuvan name was there in the singers list

& surprisingly Unnikrishnan's name is missing.. then who sung "nadhiyoram veesum kaatru" .. :?:

The season of remake is not going to end any time sooner, it is not only the movies from 80’s and below are being remade it is 90’s and below as well.

The movie we are now talking about is Vijaykanth’s blockbuster movie Ramana, which did very well at the box office is going to be remade in Hindi and the lead role is going to be played by none other than Akshay Kumar and movie is going to directed by Jayam Raja.

- outright political film
- i would put this in top-15 of puratchi kalaignar
- story+screenplay+dialogues+direction: Liyakath ali khan... didn't liked much of his earlier "paatukku oru thalaivan" but this one.. best of L A K
- dialogues & stunts are first class :bow:

- no separate comedy track.. director adds it with the main story itself.. since it is a political film it is easy to add humour in it
- heroine Jayapradha is just for namesake.. no typical love scenes between captain & jayapradha.. she comes as an actress & MP.. i think in real also she is an MP
- most of the characters done their part well.. all are regulars in 90's VK films
- Mansoor Ali Khan is for fight sequence..
- main villain is John Amirtharaj .. hindi pandit of "inru pOi naaLai vaa".. loved the dialogue exchanges between captain & john.. need to upload few scenes from this to youtube..
- john is from kovai region & i like his casual acting style.. he comes for few scenes in captain prabhakaran also, & i can't stop thinking about ever shouting Prakashraj.. default choice for present day politician character :lol2:
- captain gets to act with a variety of villains.. from fighting ponnambalam's to these kind of old man's.. my fav will always be Thilagan Annachi Arumainayagam from Sathriyan
- Thiyagu takes the role of comedy + side villain MLA.. captain's name is "subash chandra bose" ... on hearing this Thiyagu replies "engeyo kelvipatta per madhiri irukke".. :lol:
- usual manorama & m n nambiyar
- couple of scenes for Senthil .. liked it.. once again proves that Captain's fav comedian is Senthil..
- 2 to 3 scenes of appearance for vadivelu.. but no dialogues.. putting this here to show that not just Kamal is the only reason for vadivelu's rise..
- no duets as such... prabhu deva dances for one of the song along with captain [choreo: sundaram & prabhu]
- "ezhai jaadhi kOLai jaadhi alla" kind of revolutionary song sung by Jeyachandran, surprising choice.. Malaysia Vasudevan would have been perfect
- "adho andha nadhiyoram" think its by spb & minmini.. is a good one
- but my pick is ... in the voice of IlaiyaRaaja.. "indha veedu namakku sondhamilla" :bow: excellent lyrics & tune & songing.. isai kadavule :bow:

- This film will be the best film for captain's real time political role... i want him to watch this film now & improve his shortcomings in public speech

- looks like filming was done in mid 91.. but film released somewhere in 1993/94...
- most scenes were aimed at the ruling ADMK [1991-1996]
- this is a tailor made film for captain.. & can't think any actor doing this at that time
- there are talks in this hub about the aging of films.. i can confidently say that, if there is a hit film & people liked film of captain, it will definitely age well.. the reason is indian politics will never change & the subjects he chose for films are like that..
- he was among the public in "eazhai jaadhi".. now he has become a politician.. since he is not in the ruling part of govt.. the film dialogues doesn't look odd now.. though he is short tempered.. i wish he does something better than the other 2 if he gets some chance..
- in one scene.. 2 parties.. ruling & opposite.. will have deal not to give advantage to a third person.. can't stop from thinking about Captain's real life at present

- one final touch.. he crossed 40 yrs when he did this film.. has put some weight.. think he was newly married at the time of shoot
- sad that political films are forgotten in thamiz industry
- & i don't think any actor at present have guts to do this kind of films.. needs a lot of talking thru out the film.. & more importantly have to be against ruling party

I watched Eazhai Jaadhi in Ambattur Murugan during it's release, first day I guess.....kathu javvu kizhinjuduchi. Dialogue...fight...dialogue...fight appadiyae pogum. IIRC the theatre wasn't full and the movie got lukewarm response. Looking back, I have watched VK movies more in theatre than even Rajni/Kamal in 90's. Mostly appo ennoda college going uncle's veetla kaasu commission adikka enna padathakku kootittu ponathu thaan athellaam. If we look in the 90's atleast 3-4 VK movies used to release every year.

- one of the fine films of Puratchi Kalaignar Vijayakanth.. i'm putting this one among Top-5, even though it was not highly successful in terms of no. of days run & money it collected
- wanted to post in thamiz fonts.. since i'm using google transliteration it will take a lot of time & even before i cross half way i'll lose interest.. that's the reason for delay in posting about Thamizchelvan & Chinna Gounder .. - titles show.. Bharathiraaja's Thamilselvan .. yes... its il & not izh.. & starts with typical BR.. "en iniya thamiz makkaLE" & praising Vijayakanth.. this piece alone is uploaded by me in youtube.. shared here

- really i don't know how to post my thoughts about this film.. i'm tempted to post about all the scenes but its not possible.. that's how the film is... start to end.. its not entertainment.. its all about social message.. a message for all the groups in society

- thought a lot.. but no idea on how to proceed this.. so, just few points..

- Captain is district collector.. IAS from a poor family with agriculture background
- Roja, his wife who believes in non-violence & wants captain to follow it & this forms the base for film's ending

- except "aasai" song.. other 3 songs are the only -ve i'm seeing in this film

- film is shot keeping in mind the 50th year of indepence.. & shows India still needs to get rid of its internal problems & the film touches on few problems & the most basic of all is corruption

- there were couple of scenes that we have seen in Shankar's films... but i feel, here the impact is more
i) old lady coming to collector office to get "thyagi" pension... similar to the one in "INDIAN"
ii) Collector taking action against eve teasers ... similar to "MUDHALVAN"

scene i) -- Indian & Thamizchelvan were filmed almost similar time period.. Deva's bgm for this scene is apt & the dialogue adds the effect
scene ii) -- in Mudhalvan.. they show Arjun as a action hero in that scene.. here there is no fight.. but the dialogues add weight to the scene.. [watch when u get chance.. or i'll upload sometime later]

whatever i type now will not have any effect.. reason.. no advt for vijayakanth films.. no one is ready to look it

- one notabale part is Dialogues.. by Rathnakumar.. very good :clap:

- after Vijayakanth.. i liked most is Manivannan... superb natural acting.. I like him when he is not doing emotional scenes [eg: Red (Ajith)].. he is at his best when he does casual - villain roles.. he takes out all the seriousness of a scene... :bow: we can do a separate video of Manivannan in Thamizchelvan.. that much importance he has.. & the dialogues he got here is :rotfl:

- i would put this even above RAMANA.. i'm so much impressed about Thamizchelvan.. & the subdued performance of vijayakanth.. still we can see the spark / fire power in the character & dialogues.. :bow:

- the only sad thing is film did not become a bigger hit... it deserved to be a blockbuster

Also Thayagam is a well made movie Mansoor Alikhan makeup just can't identify him. movie was good but towards the end it was boring.

Vallarasu - Vasoolarasu

I saw Vallarasu in Kalpana Theatre Udumalpet not on 1st day but only on 50th day. But it was houseful. The crowd went mad on seeing captain's name in screen also his intro fight was full of whistles . The movie went on a brisk pace only speed breaker was songs & love scenes ,Captain's dialogue with Wasim Khan , his intelligence in escaping sriman till interval was tharu Maaru. Iam basically Rajini fan but watched many VK movies

After interval
P. Vasu's introduction as main villan was unexpected but he delivered a very good performance. Particularly VK wore a full black dress it was most handsome look yet simple.
His fight when his team was captured by Vasu's son was the best in the movie not too much graphics but believeable

But I watched this movie with my mother a week after its release in same kalpana theatre where my cousin & myself saw vallarasu.
To be frank it is my favorite film 3 VK is main reason. You won't believe that I don't like Chinnagounder , I like Simmasanam.
Every frame, scene has VK in this movie . Intro fight of small Vk was super.

Ramana & Thavasi -Both are received in good response! 2011 diwali - 8 films are released in this Nandan and Thavasi only hits!!

I watched Eazhai Jaadhi in Ambattur Murugan during it's release, first day I guess.....kathu javvu kizhinjuduchi. Dialogue...fight...dialogue...fight appadiyae pogum. IIRC the theatre wasn't full and the movie got lukewarm response.

Looking back, I have watched VK movies more in theatre than even Rajni/Kamal in 90's. Mostly appo ennoda college going uncle's veetla kaasu commission adikka enna padathakku kootittu ponathu thaan athellaam. GrEaT
If we look in the 90's atleast 3-4 VK movies used to release every year. sUre Praboo in 90s VK movies are high expectations among our tn fans.. still i cant imagine the crowd.. for managara kaval ... what a crowd... inSribrinda theatres.. never seen for any other actor film in this theatre stillnow

Ezhai Jathi was not flop but with too much of political overtones I saw it in Vetri theatre in Coimbatore with my family when we came for Diwali, I guess myself and my father enjoyed the movie, We basically love action movies. We went with all our relatives of 20 odd people. Songs were fabulous but only drawback was the heroine she looked too old for VK who was fit and showed no signs of aging at that time he must be in his 40's

Saw it in same theatre in Neyveli . Satyaraj said in a interview that Sethupathi IPS was narrated by P. Vasu to him , he rejected it and acted in Walter.

Vk looks like a macho in this movie especially in bomb diffusing scene in clock, Interval fight where he catches a ball which has bomb and runs like a hell to catch terrorists

It was a prestigious film for both Captain & Ks Ravikumar. It was released in the year 1997. IN neyveli only hit movie used to come never saw the movie in theatre but after few years I saw the movie in Jaya TV its like Chinna Gounder.

Captain is Nattamai for 18 villages he never eats in public function. He saves Rambha from her step mother & a family adopts her. She questions why Captain does not eat in public function & accuses him as money minded when her adopted parents reveals the truth.
He loses in a fight with BH tarun kumar his fiancee . His fiancee one day does not allow him to dine at public function. how captain saves rambha again from villan is the story.

Highlights: Senthil comedy
Captain's dress in flash back -Pyjama Kurtha especially sandalwood color one
Interval fight & BGM- He will kick villan by raising his leg back upside down
Sad that the movie was a flop. Is the DVD available

It was too preaching. Roja will be dead . If hero suffers , I mean action & mass heros like Rajini, Captain, Ajith etc fans, public won't like it. Also it was not commercial

I remember watching Vanchinathan movie on its 75th day in Abirami. A very very stylish movie of Captain.
This is the best movie that Shaaji Kailash has done in Tamizh. This movie released before Narasimma and had a decent run.
Dialogues and Camera angles are super awesome! I wished Captain had done more such movies.
The movies opens up with a fight scene trying to save ramya krishnan and consecutive scenes in police station packed with power dialogues. Prakashraj was well utilised in the movie. A must watch movie for all Captain fans!

if u get any chance of passing thru Dharmapuri / Salem.. u won't get that response...
try to get pirated.. 3 films / 4 films in one dvd..
print is bad for some of the films i have .. i bought uzhavan magan.. dark print.. title few secs (important one's) cut.. & almost 15 to 20 mins is not there in the end..
hit or miss for old films..

TTK -- not bad.. typical 80's film
