Speculation about Doyle Rahman team for Bond production is great NEWS! We know Rahman is Melodic and Spicy, but bond music is not only melodic but also most intellectual served with mystical iciness or a spaciness that is inherent in the western psyche. Bond SONGS reflect a feeling of reaching the impossible and a detachment to normal emotions. That is the key difference between great modern Western music and general Indian film music. To illustrate my intellectual standpoint, listen to:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0O5aA83GfYc - 1967 spoof,Casino Royale.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tMsP7I4syY - Orchestra can't get better than this

Bond music is about aiming for the unreachability and feeling of that rare moment of elation, about taking risks and being out there, and not cling on to safe harbors. That is the essence of Bond music, that should be the future of Indian film music too, which I see taking beautiful forms already!

Bond music has all the elements, including supreme and elegant rhythms, fantastic melodic quality and most of all structure with an
intellectual appeal, a appeal to the limitless possibilities of the mind, more than any heartfelt emotions, which is which Indian music reigns super supreme and intellectualism merely a thread that ties body, heart and soul.

With a Bond movie, Rahman will find freedom to characterize his creations with a finer intellectual dimension. But, I think he will have to get into the shoes of western life imbibing the sensibility
of the impossible heights and lengths to which Western minds reach out as much as the depths the Indian mind can take civilazations back to. That will be the key to getting the elegant mix of "feelings" for a fantastic Bond theme from India.

The future of music set by James Bond franchise, it is not about spontaneity or emotions, it is about reaching out, reaching outside of what you think you are "destined" for, trying and reshaping yourself and thus reshaping society, defining a brave future for everyone.

And, A.R. Rahman has all these noble and grand virtues, which is how the world is liking him and his music!
