Not sure if there are any NBA fans (GO LAKERS!!) around but decided I'd open a thread for any discussions on the NBA's 2008-09 season. Also here (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/081028) is the season preview from ESPN.com's The Sports Guy - Bill Simmons, arguably the most entertaining writer they have.

The Lakers should finish in the top 2 in the west without breaking a sweat. The only issue I see, as Simmons says in the article I linked to above, is Odom underperforming because he is coming off the bench.

Nerd: The Rockets have their toughest test so far, today against the Celtics. How have Yao and T-Mac been looking? Especially T-Mac's back ?

Yao's been pathetic so far. Today must be the worst. T-Mac's looking good. We just lost to Celtics at home. Next games at Portland. Should be an easy one..

I'd be glad if Lakers do well. I like Kobe Bryant.

I also like Nash and the art of Point Guards. Apart from Kobe, I like Ginobli as SG.

I love NBA.

Happened to see the news 'Celtics lost 6 of last 8 matches'. On Friday, Celtics Vs. Cavaliers match is on and I think it will be a good one.

No one following 2009 NBA Finals (Lakers vs Magic)....
Lakers took the first game @ home 100-75...

I still think Magic will pull this off (hopefully). They were bad last night though. Couldn't watch beyond 3rd quarter, already when the writing was on the wall.

Too many turnovers & missed Free throws cost Magic the much needed Game 4. They played well in the first half, but messed up completely the 3rd quarter.

Fisher  Its all over now for Magic.

Phil Jackson  (I don't think he deserves his 9 championships)
