Prem’s Ashoka to Explode Soon

Ashoka is ready for release. Produced and directed by Indira Prem, the movie features Prem in the role of a commando. One can remember Actor - director Prem, who shot to fame with Krodham. Ashoka is about how a VIP in the country is protected by his Black Cat Commando from a group of men with evil designs.

They have come up with stunning stunt choreography and shot the action sequences using the camera that was used for filming Hollywood movie Casino Royale . The film features Anu Sri, Pooja Bharathi, Raghuvaran, Livingstone, Anandraj and Rajeev in the cast. It is a well-etched role for Raghuvaran and he has given his best. Equally appealing would be Anandharaj’s performance. This movie that will send a strong message for terrorists.[/tscii:8c0d761a4d]

Has anyone seen 'andha nAL' here? (Now, don't ask me which one!) It was even shown on television recently. Now, that is one awesome adaptation. A must-watch.

Kalyasi,
Prem adapted the basic narrative of the yesteryear classic 'andha nAL' and set it in a totally B-movie milieu. The actors, the performances, the dialogue, the tonal quality of the look-and-feel of the film were all attuned to starkly different sensibilities.

Doubties - Is Equanimus suggesting that "Anda Naal" (remake/adaptation) is a must-watch?

Doubties - Is Equanimus suggesting that "Anda Naal" (remake/adaptation) is a must-watch? It's decent movie for tamil standards.. I really like one song from that movie.. "andha naal.. "

A resounding 'yes.' It's high time we Tamil film-watchers paid the due respect to the "awesomely great" movies of Tamil cinema. Now, that's one area we've really made great strides (so great that we churn out one 'Jaani Dushman' like every year or two), but yet failed to start a movement to follow them films.

Are You talking about Antha NaL ?

It was released in 1954 ,unimaginable for a Tami movie without songs (Those days dialogues come in between songs in most of the movies) and with negative charater as Hero .

when rate a movie ,keep in mind the time and atmosphere when the movie released.

I have always been an admirer of Prem's movies.Good action and choreography , very little fuss , actresses as glam gals , so no serious love issues to distract hero from this demotion job.

This movie has all the characteristics of a typical Prem production.I have been following his movies years if not a decade and a half before krodham was released and are really good and tightly edited.

The sad thing about this movie (mentioned in all reviews) is the mother sentiment. As usual crying and suffering and what not.Ayyo appa , podhum podhum nu adyiduchi ! Can't tamil mothers be ever happy ? Always crying screaming and suffering.

Hope the reality is different.
