Songs and their Raagas

Dear all

I am new to this section of hub, so pls pardon my ignorance, I am a stage singer, able to render carnatic based songs like Shankarapaanam, Salangai Oli, Sindhu bhairavi, though I am not formaly trained in Carnatic, it is all kelvi gnanam.

I would like to discuss about all the various Raagas and songs based on these raagas. It would involve Cinema Songs as well, I hope this is OK.

here is the first question

1) what Raaga is 'Isaitthamizh nee seydha' from Thiruvilaiyadal by T.R. mahalingam based on ?

2) what Raaga is 'Om Kaara Nadhanu ' from Shankaraparanm by Dr.S.P.Balasubramanium based on?

The first one is AbhEri or bhImpalAs. The second sounds like it is kalyANi but I could be mistaken.
