Everyone in K’wood knows how our Chiyaan Vikram gets right into the characters he does. Now the actor has gone on a crash diet and reduced five kilos and is looking lean and fit. The buzz is that he is playing a super cool intelligent investigative cop look for his new untitled Bhoopathy Pandian film. Vikram was the cynosure of all cameramen and guests who turned up for actor Munna’s wedding reception last Saturday. When quizzed about his new look, the actor said: “I can’t reveal much about my new look other than saying it for the role that I’m doing in Bhoopathy Pandian’s film produced by Mohan Natarajan.” The buzz is that the cop role that he is playing, uses his brains more than brawn to solve murder cases. In the film, he does not wear police uniform and has more of an intelligent investigative officer’s look. Ileana is his heroine and Devi Sri Prasad, the music director. The shoot of the film will start in Chennai from March 20, and the first schedule will be for 40 days.

Vikram to repeat ‘Samy’ act

After ‘Samy’, Vikram will once again play the role of a police officer in his forthcoming film, to be directed by Bhoopathy Pandian. The movie produced by Mohan Natrajan features Ileana opposite him.

“The story is about an honest and intelligent police officer, who wins the baddies by brainy and brawny ways. Boopathy Pandian is known for catering to the tastes of the masses and he is at it again with this Vikram starrer,” sources say.

Plans are on to dub and release the film simultaneously in Telugu. This has made the producer and director to rope in ace Tollywood comedian Brahmanandam and Kota Srinivasa Rao to play pivotal roles.

Devi Sri Prasad, who is equally popular in Tamil and Telugu film industries, is scoring the music. “Vikram plays an investigative cop. The shoot of the film will start in Chennai later in the week,” sources add.
