Very nice song! Completely overshadowed by the big hit "poththi vechcha malligai mottu" from the same film. The military commands and the sound of the fireweapons at the opening of the song disracted me for a long time I would actually turn off the song or play something else. But once I got past that I discovered the nectar. From Pathinaru Vayathinile to Mudhal Mariyadhai the Bharatiraja-Ilaiyaraja combination brought to us the unadulterated beauty of rural Tamilnadu in their stories and songs.

I think you are referring to "Vaanam Arugil Oru Vaanam" sung by Dr.K.J.Yesudass...It was a great composition from Shankar Ganesh...A great melody..has a nice feel to it...
