  That is a cool movie except for few scenes. After all no one is going to do scene by scene remake for a old classic. The story can be taken in more appealing for almost all section without image damage. Playboy character. It wont be a bad idea for sure

  Pachaikili Muthucharam has taken a fantastic opening in Chennai city and suburbs. From seven screens the film has done an amazing 96 percent.   Friday fight!

  Nearly a dozen films have been released this year so far, but except for Pokkiri, there are no real winners. This Friday (Feb 23), three more films are releasing, putting pressure on theatres and films that have released in the last fortnight!
  
  Today the shelf life of a film is just the opening weekend, or just three days before it gets stale. By Monday noon-show all films take a dip and the audience focus changes to next Friday releases. And once the new releases take place, people tend to forget last week's releases!
  
  Anyway the battle continues, as more films get ready for release. This week the real fight is between the brother-in-law Karthi’s first film (Paruthiveeran) and sister-in-law Jyothika’s last release (Mozhi). And on the sideline, Vivek is trying to establish himself as a hero (Solli Adippen), with a film that has been long in the making!
  
  As of now the buzz on Mozhi is getting bigger by the day. Already its producer Prakash Raj gathers a small crowd wherever he goes and talks nothing but about Mozhi. He has held a couple of sneak previews for important people whose words count and they have spread good word-of-mouth for the film!
  
  Vairamuthu the noted Tamil lyricist had said that if he is nominated for the National award committee, he will see to it that Jyothika is selected as the best actress for her performance in Mozhi!
  
  Mozhi is also the first release of `Pyramid Saimira Theatres`, the company which seems to be flushed with funds. They are boasting that they will release 25 Tamil films this year, which means a film every fortnight from March 1st? In the bargain Mozhi has managed to get good theatres and is releasing big with nearly 130 prints.
  
  For Karthi everything depends on Ameer's Paruthiveeran, his make or break film which is now finally hitting the screens. The film based on a rural real-life rowdy turned Robinhood is said to be well made. The worry is that Ameer's film are critically acclaimed but at the box-office he is yet to give a super hit.
  
  And adding to Karthi’s woes, the publicity is on a low key. To give it a boost and create a buzz around the film, Ameer is planning to show the film today evening (Feb 21) to the most important person in the state.
  
  Poor Vivek! He was one time the most prolific comedian in Tamil cinema who used to do at least 20 to 25 films a year, before the "Hero" bug caught up with him. And he spent nearly three years trying to complete Solli Adippen as the producer had financial trouble. By that time he lost out on comedy roles and Vadivel emerged as the superstar comedian and hero. But all is not lost, as Solli Adippen is said to be a laugh riot, that may emerge as the dark horse this weekend. Watch this space!

  True, his role in Pokkiri can't be called his "best" action performance, but Vijay and the film were stylish. Dharani prolly would have done better since Dharani is commercial/action oriented whereas PD has done two love based family entertainers before this. Vijay def had his trademark style in Ghilli as some of the scenes were actually changed to allow it. Anyway, ATM should showcase Vijay as himself in a new light.

  The most number of film people are located in Madurai. A majority of fans are also there. When Vijay went to Madurai to celebrate the success of 'Pokkiri,' one could see it in person.
  
  'Pokkiri' is being screened in Madurai's Cinepriya theatre. Since the film is doing great business, the President of Distributors Association Anbuchezhiyan wanted to felicitate Vijay.
  
  The Assistant Police Commissioner Kumaravel participated in the function. A special guest was M Karunandhi's grandson Durai alias Dayanidhi, the son of MK Azhagiri. Dayanidhi was all praise for Vijay and felicitated him with a shawl. In return, Vijay honored him with a shawl.
  
  Vijay extolled the virtues of Madurai and this found great response and applause in the crowd. About 9 cows were given away by Vijay to poor people at the function. Earlier a 'gopuja' was conducted.

  Yes, the crying over Nasser's dead body in Pokiri was excellent for Vijay. I was actually surprised, and it was one of the few scenes that didn't have the Mahesh Babu hangover. Vijay seemed like Vijay in that scene.

  Common JOE. There is always a possibility for a Non Vijay fan that other things you said on the movie can be true..
  
  But the bolded comment is a bit rude i think.
  
  The Songs are good. The only song which may be irritating for a non Vijay fan is POKIRI pongal. Rest of the songs are really good. Dance And choreography except for Over Make up asin in certain scenes of the songs.
  
  Vadivelu's comedy except few scenes like water lorry comedy
  
  Acting of Prakashraj and Nasser to some extent.

  Till last year she could walk on the MG Road, Marine Drive or have a bite at the Abad coffee shop and see a movie at Kavitha theatre. But things have change drastically after Pokkiri became a blockbuster in Kerala.   the scene goes like this

  After the success of Pokkiri (this film was originally made in Telugu), Boney Kapoor who was impressed with the storyline bought the rights of the film to be remade in Hindi. Now the latest news is that Salman Khan might be playing the role of the cop-cumrowdy which was portrayed by Vijay in Tamil. It seems like Hindi remakes of Tamil films had a positive impact Salman’s career.   It was a unique meet, at Tiruvananthapuram SL theatre complex, on March 20. Our Ilayathalapathy Vijay flew down from Chennai to celebrate the 75th day run of his Pokkiri at the theatre complex. Malayalam action hero Suresh Gopi ,gave away the memento to Vijay.
  
  The film is the highest collecting Tamil film and has also created new records. Suresh Gopi said: - “My son is a big fan of Vijay, he is really a superstar`. There was a huge crowd outside the theatre as people waited hours to just have a glimpse of Vijay
  
  Vijay was all smiles throughout the function. The theatre where the function was held is situated near Thampanoor area, in the heart of Thiruvananthapuram. Due to the large crowds, traffic on the main road went totally out of control, as the masses surged to the venue. Police had to use mild force to control the crowds

  Everything was in place for the fairytale reunion of a hugely successful team. Dharani, Vijay and Vidyasagar had already decide that it was time for Round 2 and the only person missing from the days of Ghilli was Trisha; well, not any more. She has joined the party.
  
  
  
  
  We had earlier reported the coming together of Dharani, Vijay and Vidyasagar for a movie that will commence after Azhagiya Thamizh Magan. Udayanithi, grandson of CM M.Karunanidhi will be producing this film. Udayanithi has already thrown a party to mark the confirmation of the project. Now that Trisha too has joined in, the work has started.
  
  It is being said that Vidyasagar has already finished composing one song for the movie. The official launch of this movie is expected to be held on the Tamil New Year's Day. Looking at the scheduled start of the movie it can be expected to hit screens for Pongal 2008.
